Strategic Forum for Korean Films and Its Expansion into Global Market

Last August 18th, Korean Film Council (KOFIC)’s International Promotion Center hosted ‘Strategic Forum for Korean Films and Its Expansion into Global Market’ at Korea Chamber of Commerce. The forum proceeded mainly in four parts. Many Korean filmmakers interested in global market were present at the forum, including directors, producers, overseas sales companies, local film councils, and post-production industry personnel who are preparing international projects.

CAMELLIA, A Love Letter for the Past, Present and Future of Busan by Asia’s Directors

Seagulls and camellia are the symbols of ocean side city of Busan, well known for Pusan International Film Festival (PIFF). The blazing red camellia blossoms represent 'an eternal love that overcomes time and space’ and ‘the waiting for that solemn promise'. The movie Camellia is an omnibus project set out for the first time by PIFF, and one of its episodes is titled Kamome (a Japanese word for 'seagull').
